Most tailgate issues are caused by alignment problems (there have been a few failures of the tailgate lift motors). Hence the problems people (and I) have had when parked on uneven surfaces). Get the alignment checked. A low cost fault code reader will tell you if a sensor or motor is faulty.

You will need to take the washer bottle off the car mate as the pump is block up mate take the pump off and clean and job done I had to do this on my car mate. You can get the pump off if u take the wheel off and the wheel liner off and look up and you will see the pump just pull the pump off and
